Celsius to Fahrenheit Converter (°C to °F)
37 °C is 98.6 °F — normal body temperature, and a good anchor for the scale. The formula is °F = °C × 9/5 + 32, so 0 °C is 32 °F (freezing) and 100 °C is 212 °F (boiling).

How this conversion works
Type in either box — Celsius becomes Fahrenheit, Fahrenheit becomes Celsius, live. Weather is the everyday use: 20 °C is a mild 68 °F, 30 °C is a hot 86 °F, and a 38 °C fever is 100.4 °F.
Unlike every other pair on this site, temperature is not a simple multiplication: the scales start at different zeros, which is what the +32 is doing. Double-and-add-30 is a decent weather shortcut (20 °C → 70 by the shortcut, 68 exactly), but for cooking, fevers and anything that matters, use the exact formula above.
The exact formula
°F = °C × 9/5 + 32 · °C = (°F − 32) × 5/9
The two scales are pinned at water's freezing and boiling points: 0 °C = 32 °F and 100 °C = 212 °F, with 180 Fahrenheit degrees spanning the same interval as 100 Celsius degrees — hence the 9/5. They cross at −40, the one temperature that is the same in both.

Frequently asked questions
What is the formula for Celsius to Fahrenheit?
Multiply by 9, divide by 5, add 32. For the reverse, subtract 32, multiply by 5, divide by 9.
At what temperature are Celsius and Fahrenheit equal?
−40. Minus forty degrees Celsius is minus forty degrees Fahrenheit — the scales cross there.
Is 37 °C really normal body temperature?
It is the classic textbook figure (98.6 °F). Modern measurements put the average slightly lower, around 36.6 °C, and a healthy day's range runs roughly 36.1–37.2 °C.
